Credits you can trust

Two promises, built into the code

Paying per video only works if you know the price and never pay for a failure. Motiongist enforces both, in the studio, in the API and for AI agents.

  • You see the exact credit price before you confirm

    • Before every render, the studio shows the exact cost, line by line. Your quote stays locked for 1 hour.
    • The render can't cost more than the quote you approved.
    • Same rule for the REST API and the MCP server: no approved quote, no render.
  • Failed renders are refunded automatically

    • If a render fails on our side, we retry it up to 2 times, at no extra cost.
    • If it still fails, every credit goes back to your balance on its own, with a line in your credit history and an e-mail.
    • Cancel before rendering starts and the credits come back too.

The details are in the refund policy.

Questions about pricing

What happens when I run out of credits?

On Solo, you can top up anytime (1,000 credits for $10). On Studio and Team, usage is unlimited within fair use: once you’ve used your monthly allowance, your videos keep rendering in a slower queue.

So how much does a video actually cost?

Everything runs on a single credit balance. A video costs 400 credits in short format (45–60 s), 700 in standard (90–120 s) and 1,000 in long (150–180 s). The final voice adds 1 credit per 10 narrated characters (the draft voice is free), Studio quality +300 a custom look +300 and 3D rendering +100. A revision costs 50% of the base price, since only what changed gets rebuilt. You see the exact price before every generation, and if a generation fails, its credits come back automatically. Estimate a price.

Can a video end up costing more than the price I saw?

No. Before every render, the studio shows the exact credit price, line by line. You confirm that quote, it stays valid for an hour, and the render can’t cost more than it. The API and the MCP server follow the same rule: no approved quote, no render.

What happens if a render fails?

We retry it automatically, at no extra cost. If it still fails, its credits go back to your balance on their own, with a line in your credit history and an e-mail to let you know. Cancelling before the render starts refunds them too. See the refund policy.

Monthly or yearly?

Yearly is 35% cheaper and paid upfront. Either way, credits are granted every month.

What exactly is the free plan?

500 free credits when you sign up, to try it out. On this plan, projects default to the short format (400 credits with the draft voice): enough for a first short video before you choose. Exports carry a discreet watermark.

Can I switch plans or cancel?

Yes, anytime from the Billing page. Upgrades apply right away; canceling simply stops the next renewal. See the refund policy.

Can I turn a course into a video series?

Yes, with the Team plan. Drop in your course, webinar or document: Motiongist splits it into coherent episodes and creates one project per episode, which you review before rendering. See pricing.

Do prices include tax?

Prices are shown before tax. Any applicable sales tax or VAT is calculated at checkout based on your country and whether you’re buying as an individual or a business.

Which currencies do you bill in?

US dollars or euros. Visitors from the EU and Switzerland see euros by default, everyone else sees dollars, and you can switch on the pricing table. Your workspace currency is set when you sign up and locks in with your first payment.

Do you invoice businesses?

Yes, with proper invoices including your tax ID. For large volumes or fully outsourced production, check out done-for-you production.
